MARSMAN MUSIC CENTRE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES 

1. REGISTRATION
 New families are charged a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $69. Once a family account has been created, new family members may be added to that family account free of charge. Family accounts are restricted to immediate members of the family only.

 2. 30-DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
 We do not offer trial lessons because we believe it takes more than one lesson to truly appreciate the Marsman experience. If you’re not satisfied within your first 30 days of taking lessons, we will refund 100% of the tuition paid – no questions asked.

 3. TUITION
 Tuition is the means of reserving lesson time with one of our professionals. Our teachers are awesome and are committed to their students and their students’ success. So we’ve structured our tuition policies in a way that honours that.
 a) Marsman Music does not bill on a per-lesson basis; tuition billing is structured as a standardized, monthly tuition amount.
 b) All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit cards or post-dated cheque by the first of the month, for that month's lessons. Tuition is due upon registration for new students.  We do not assess late fees for late tuition, but we do ask for tuition to be paid on time.
 c) Except for the first month of a student’s study, tuition is not prorated on to lessons taken in a given month.
 d) Tuition will not be rolled over (credited) to any following month’s lessons. Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons as it is a means of reserving lesson time with one of our professionals.
 e) Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments.

 4. CANCELLATIONS AND MAKEUPS
 At Marsman, we are proud to provide exceptional service in addition to our top quality lessons. As a part of our service commitment, we’ve based our make up policy on the following statement:
 We exist to deliver excellent lessons, and so we offer make up lessons regardless of the nature of the absence.
 Here’s how it works:
 a) If a student misses a lesson for any reason, a makeup opportunity will be provided through one of our dynamic, small-group makeup sessions.
 b) If any lessons need to be missed by a teacher, Marsman will attempt to provide a substitute teacher from our existing and highly qualified staff of professionals, or teachers from Toronto’s finest post-secondary music programs. If a substitute teacher is unavailable, a private makeup lesson with the teacher will be scheduled promptly.

 5. DISCONTINUING LESSONS
 To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, please notify Marsman in writing either by email or letter before the 15th of your last month. We do not prorate tuition for the last month’s lessons. Students will be responsible for their last month’s tuition whether or not they attend lessons. Students can sign up for four makeup classes held at anytime throughout the year if they cannot attend their last month. No refunds are given for students missing their last month. No exceptions will be made for moving, relocating, illness, etc.

 6. AVERAGE OF FOUR LESSONS PER MONTH
 Monthly tuition is based on a 48 week year. We are closed four weeks for holidays. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months such as August and December, you will get three lessons, and most months you will get four lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month; i.e. we don’t charge you more when you have five lessons, and we don’t charge you less when you have three lessons in a month. This makes everyone’s accounting easier.

 7 .SUMMER VACATION
 a. Marsman operates year round and does not close for the summer. We are happy to offer unlimited makeups for our students, and they are held every week. If you are taking a month off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space. No worries though, ALL the lessons for the month you miss can be made up as private lessons when you return from vacation.
 b. If you’d like to take the entire summer off but would like to reserve your lesson booking for the fall, we won’t charge you for the summer, but we will ask for a deposit to reserve the time. The deposit will be fully credited towards your tuition when you return.

 8. CARE OF STUDENTS
 We love kids, but we’re not equipped to take care of unaccompanied little ones. Parents with children under the age of six must remain in the school lobby during the classes.

 9. OPEN DOOR POLICY
 Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons. We have an open door policy for lessons.

 10. PICKING UP
 Children must wait for their parents to pick them up inside the school. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. We don’t want anyone going missing on our watch. If you’re going to be late, the kids will be in good hands, but there’s only so much pizza we can feed them.

 11. INJURIES

Parents, and guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property. Marsman Music Centre is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.
